Sports therapy is by no means restricted to elite athletes and can be used to treat a variety of injuries related to sport, exercise, or occupation.
If you are a cycling enthusiast, a regular runner/jogger training for fitness or for an event, a pensioner who enjoys tennis, a game of golf, then Sports Therapy can help you.
Treatment of injuries does not stop at sport and exercise but can treat occupational injuries such as those who suffered by people who work in desk related occupations or have age related conditions.
ST is a combination of several techniques to meet the client’s requirements:
Manual therapy consists of massage techniques to manipulate the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia that hold the skeletal system together.
Mobilisation techniques help to improve posture, correct body mechanics and reduce pain and discomfort.
Rehabiliation exercises are often prescribed or recommended.
I recommend between 1-6 treatments sessions for the following conditions, but marked improvement and reduced pain round 3-4 sessions.
ST can help with:
Joint pain
Muscular tension
Postural problems
General soft tissue injuries
Over-use injuries
Scar tissue
Stiffness
Restricted movement
